The SKIP PRAWN is a versatile prawn imitation lure that can be rigged conventionally or weedless, allowing you to target the nastiest of grounds. Named for its excellent skipping properties, the SKIP PRAWN is designed with dangly leg appendages, life-like eyes, and floppy antennae to closely imitate a real prawn.

This lure can be presented in various retrieve styles:

  • A twitch and pause technique to imitate a fleeing prawn.
  • A constant slow wind to mimic a slow-moving prawn along the bottom.
  • The lift and drift method to represent a prawn moving through the water column.
  • A simple waft technique, if fished lightly around structures, to let the appendages dangle and waft naturally.

Stable, Solid, Reliable

I had just lost 6 of the 7 weedless prawns I bought in one session and I was super happy about it (sarcasm). Skipping plastics into deep snags and trying to hook fish is a tough gig but it had to be better than this. The Skip Prawn was born from that. The need for a prawn that didn't twirl on the drop, held its form while being worked, skipped well, and of course some dangly bits for a bits for good measure!
